Contest rules

These are the standard rules for the monthly Etobicoke give-aways run by Jonathan Lee. The prize, its approximate retail value, and the entry and draw dates for the current give-away are shown on the contests page.

  1. No purchase necessary. No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter or win, and a purchase will not improve your chances.
  2. Who can enter. Open to individuals who, at the time of entry, are legal residents of Etobicoke, Ontario, have reached the age of majority in Ontario (18 or older), and are not the Sponsor or an employee, brokerage colleague, agent, or immediate family or household member of the Sponsor. Void where prohibited by law.
  3. How to enter. Complete the entry form on the contests page during the entry period with your name, email, phone number, and Etobicoke address. Limit one (1) entry per household, per give-away. Your address is used only to confirm eligibility. Incomplete, inaccurate, or ineligible entries are void.
  4. Odds. Your chances of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
  5. Winner selection and skill-testing question. One eligible entry is selected at random on or about the draw date shown for the give-away. To be declared the winner, that entrant must, within five (5) days of first being contacted, correctly answer (without help or a calculator) a mathematical skill-testing question and confirm they are eligible. If they cannot be reached within five (5) days, decline, are ineligible, or answer incorrectly, they lose the prize and the Sponsor may draw another entrant.
  6. Notification. The Sponsor will contact the selected entrant using the email and/or phone number provided.
  7. The prize. The prize is awarded as described on the contests page, has no cash value, and cannot be transferred or exchanged. If the stated prize cannot be awarded, the Sponsor may substitute one of equal or greater value. The winner is responsible for any applicable taxes.
  8. Use of winner's name and photo. By entering and accepting the prize, the winner agrees that the Sponsor may use their first name, photograph, likeness, neighbourhood, and any comments to announce and promote the give-away in the Sponsor's newsletter, website, and social media, without further notice or payment.
  9. Your privacy. The information you provide is used only to run the give-away (confirming eligibility and contacting the winner). It is not sold. You will receive marketing emails only if you separately choose to subscribe.
  10. General. The Sponsor may cancel, suspend, or change the give-away if it cannot be run as planned (for example, fraud, technical failure, or events beyond the Sponsor's control), subject to any approval the law requires. The Sponsor may disqualify anyone who tampers with entry or acts in bad faith. To the extent the law allows, the Sponsor is not responsible for any loss or damage from taking part or from accepting or using the prize. The Sponsor's decisions are final.
  11. Trademarks. Any third-party brand offered as a prize (for example, a retailer gift card) is not a sponsor of, and is not affiliated with, this give-away.
  12. Governing law. This give-away is governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
